ruby: I am Ruby. Welcome to my blog on food and spices. Cooking is my passion and I enjoy trying out new dishes and serving them to my near and dear ones. People say cooking is both art and science, but to me it is more than that, it is the way I communicate, a medium to express my thoughts and to spread joy to someone else. In this blog I would like to share with you, recipes of my own, those learnt from my friends, my mother, and colleagues. I am a physician, born and brought up in Kerala, India. Kerala, also known as God’s own country, is known for spice trade from time immemorial. History shows that we have been trading spices with the Chinese, the Arabs, the Portuguese, the French, and the British. We produce some of the best quality cardamom, pepper, cinnamon etc. I am also fond of travelling; in my travels I try to learn the local cuisine of that region, note them in my diary, come back and try it at home. So be with me in this journey as I explore the world of food and spices.
